All Americans need to recognize that the families of our military brothers and sisters make huge sacrifices here at home, while their loved ones put their lives in harm's way serving our great nation and the cause of freedom. The needs of our military families are becoming more chronic as thousands of North Texas soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, and members of the National Guard serving their country are called to active duty for multiple tours overseas. Most Reserve and Guard personnel called to duty are earning a fraction of their civilian job salaries. As a result, many families are struggling to meet their financial obligations while their breadwinner is away fighting for us. As Americans, and as members of a caring community, we cannot stand idly by while military personnel and their families quietly sacrifice their basic needs while serving to protect our freedom and our Country.
